                               Our project features many dominant aspects of French culture during the

                                 late seventeenth to early eighteenth centuries.  The topic we have touched upon

                                 are despotism and Enlightened ideas.  Louis XIV was the "Sun King"  who

                                shone upon his people and  he thought of himself  "the State".  We hope that
